Nicole Kidman

nicole.jpgShe was born on the 20th of June, 1967, in Honolulu Hawaii to Australian Parents giving her dual citizenship (Australia-US). She was born in the US state when his father was a visiting at the National Institute for Mental Health in Washington DC. She started taking ballet lessons at age four furthering her training at the Philip Street Theater which led her to Sydney’s Australian Theater for Young People. She started acting at age 15, when she appeared in a music video by Pat Wilson,’ Bop Girl’. Her Hollywood film debut was in 1989, when she starred besides Sam Niell in the Thriller film ‘Dead Calm’ where she played the wife of a naval officer who, on a yacht trip was hijacked by a deranged Billy Zane. In 1995, she made her second film ‘To Die For’, which earned her the Golden Globe Award. Her second Golden Globe came when she played in the movie ‘Moulin Rouge’ with Ewan McGregor. Since then she has garnered many awards including more Golden Globes, a BAFTA along with a Best Actress at the Academy. Though not known as a singer, she has had some (well three) under her belt which were; ‘Come What May’, from Moulin Rouge; Somethin’ Stupid with Robee Williams and ‘Kiss and Heartbreak Hotel’ which was the official soundtrack of the animated movie Happy Feet. In 2007, she was awarded the ‘Companion of the Order of Australia’ which is the highest government award given to civilians for her great contributions in charity and for the advancement of the arts.
